I honestly cannot stand it whenever references to the fandom are made in the show. For example, Lyra and Bon Bon’s friendship, the names given to several different background ponies, and especially Derpy. If you ask me, it’s just slight ass kissing and pandering.
Everything I thought I’d hate about the show have been features I’ve ended up loving. Some examples being: Rarity, since shes the fussiest, prissiest pony I thought she’d annoy me, she’s now my favourite character in the show. The Cutie Mark Crusaders, I’m not usually a fan of kids so I couldn’t see myself liking them, however I now always look forward to their episodes. The songs, the idea of technicolour ponies singing about love and friendship was enough to turn my stomach, however now I find myself humming the songs all day long. Terms like ‘Everypony’ and ‘Somepony’, it’s understandable to think these terms would wear thin very quickly. However I know love them, they really add some originality to the show (not that it really needs anymore than it has) and I’ve had to stop myself saying them in front of my mates. Finally, Derpy. I used to dislike Derpy, however recently, and I’m talking mere weeks ago, I came to realise that it is remarkable how the fandom has fleshed her character out without any help from the show. She’s sort of our symbol, and I can’t help but love her because of them.
I hate it when people think that endlessly spamming memes makes them a fan of the show. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you have to be some beloved content producer, as long as you honestly love the show then you’re a fan. However it seems so many people take to forums and post things like “20% Kewler! lOL Im such a bronie!” It really fucks me off.
I dislike how most in the fandom assume that just because a character mom and/or dad are not shown that they must be dead, or hate them, or other horrible thing. That make me think that they’re a like of cynical people in this fandom. That makes me sad.
personally, as both a brony and a huge power puff fan, i think that if the internet was more accessible and/or powerful ten years ago or something, the power puff girls would have the same kind of colossal fan base that MLP has.
i also can’t help but look at all the similarities. the episodes “hearts and hooves day” and “putting your hoof down” where inspired by the power puff episodes “keen on Keane” and “bubblevicious”. the mane 6 and the CMC are also in one way or another were inspired by the girls themselves and the humor and over all tune is very similar.

14/12/12 - I like MLP since I was about 4 to 6 years old. But ever since Season 3 I’m beginning to lose interest in it. It’s not the show or the plot or anything, it’s the fandom. I’m afraid that it might end up like my older fandoms, once I have been obsessing over, and now it’s just….”bluh.”
I constantly worry about the state of the fandom and what will happen next, whenever something bad happens in the fandom as a whole I tend to get anxious. But I know all I can do is try to move on and hope for the best.
