After hearing something about how Derpy’s voice actress chose that voice, I admit that it was offensive. It was still better than her second Dumb Blonde voice.
I don’t believe that Dinky is Derpy’s daughter or that she dates Dr.Whooves. These ideas are cute, adorable, but hardly canon
I love how some bronies can get so defensive of a cartoon horse (Derpy), to the point of making threats. Sure, we all like to declare love and tolerance and all that jazz, but if you show even one incentive against Derpy, all of that goes out the window and they’ll want your head on a stick.
People. She’s just a cartoon character. There’s no need to be making threats against others over this.
I think Derpy Hooves is WAY over popular, don’t get me wrong I love her she’s just WAY to over popular.
How many background ponies must there be, with no spoken lines? Over two hundred, maybe? But the fans only really care about six, really. Derpy, Bon-Bon, Lyra, the Doctor, Octavia and Vinyl Scratch. What about all those other ponies? Are they not worthy? What makes some ponies more special than others?
As a Brony with mental disabilities I find Derpy to be inspirational. The fact that she can keep going after a mistake, the fact that she can get up and keep smiling gives me hope.
What offends me is when others treat me like someone who cant decide for myself what offends me and claims that Derpy is offensive when she is not, she’s an inspiration.
Please keep smiling Derpy Hooves.
Everything I thought I’d hate about the show have been features I’ve ended up loving. Some examples being: Rarity, since shes the fussiest, prissiest pony I thought she’d annoy me, she’s now my favourite character in the show. The Cutie Mark Crusaders, I’m not usually a fan of kids so I couldn’t see myself liking them, however I now always look forward to their episodes. The songs, the idea of technicolour ponies singing about love and friendship was enough to turn my stomach, however now I find myself humming the songs all day long. Terms like ‘Everypony’ and ‘Somepony’, it’s understandable to think these terms would wear thin very quickly. However I know love them, they really add some originality to the show (not that it really needs anymore than it has) and I’ve had to stop myself saying them in front of my mates. Finally, Derpy. I used to dislike Derpy, however recently, and I’m talking mere weeks ago, I came to realise that it is remarkable how the fandom has fleshed her character out without any help from the show. She’s sort of our symbol, and I can’t help but love her because of them.
