I don’t understand why some people feel that the toy names for Lyra, Carrot Top, etc. count as their official character names. Does everyone just ignore that the toys also call Trixie ‘Lulamoon’? They’re hardly reliable. 2/18/12

I lied at first when telling my friends I was a brony, but then I actually started watching the show.

I can’t believe people are actually pissed off about Derpy Hooves.

She’s not retarded, she’s clumsy. I just can’t believe that people are writing letters and protesting her. Perhaps some people are taking a children’s show a tad too seriously.

I’ve had an affinity for background characters in shows since Adventure Time. And since the FiM fandom never leaves any background pony unnoticed, it’s fun to explore the different perceptions of such characters, and even better to see depictions of other ‘decided’ ponies like action girl Carrot Top or pessimistic Blues. They’re all best ponies.

Now, whether or not the creators will capitalize on this and give them their own stories behind the scenes is a concern of mine. It’d be awesome to see that there’s more to Ponyville’s shenanigans than just Twilight’s friends, but we all know that there will be some unhappy bronies if this ever goes through. The best I can hope for is that this happens little by little, with small peeks into the life of Ponyville as the series goes on. 1/25/12
