I love R34 ponies and clopping to them, but I often worry about the consequences of pony porn.
The thing that worries me the most is how quickly “Twilight Sparkle R34” or “MLP R34” pops up on Google search suggestions. It’s an honest fear of mine that a young child who likes the show will unwittingly discover pony porn, and I feel horrible that, in a way, I am contributing to the eventual incident of this happening. However, I know that much of the fandom is doing its best to stop it from happening, through careful tagging and etc. I also fear that pornies are ruining our reputation with the public, because to be honest, I’ve never seen a fandom of a cartoon where R34 material is so abundant, and of course, the public will automatically focus on the worst part of a fandom. Lastly, I fear that pornies are tearing apart our very fandom, with three distinct sides: Those who love it, those who hate it, and those who tolerate its existance and realize that the only thing they can do is ignore it. If more of the anti-R34 bronies just stopped trying to abolish it and send clop artists to hell, and if cloppers stopped posting it in ways that made others uncomfortable, this war could end, and we could all be happy. 02/22/12
